| Premium Wines SEMILLON A dry white, medium bodied, lightly oaked style, showing traces of honey and toast, following through to a lemon lime finish. Matured in French Oak barriques for six months. Excellent with all seafood, a favorite with char-grilled baby octopus, with a parsley, lemon and olive oil dressing. Will age well. SAV/BLANC Light and elegant, best describes this style. Tropical fruits, honey due melon and lantana are well displayed on the nose. Good mouth feel of well-balanced fruit and acid makes this wine most enjoyable. Serve with smoked salmon, oysters and fresh garden asparagus. Drink within two years. CHARDONNAY A full flavored dry white style matured for ten months in new and old French Oak barriques. Peach and melon are displayed on the nose. Good mouth feel of fruit complemented by toast and butter followed by a slight acid finish. Serve with all well prepared chicken dishes. Will age for 3-5 years. A good example of Granite Belt Chardonnay. SHIRAZ A full-bodied style, with loads of black pepper and black berry characteristic of Shiraz, complemented by American oak and soft tannins. Best with steak and all red meats including roast dinners. CABERNET MERLOT A full-bodied style matured in American oak. The palate displays spice, berry and vegetal tones with a soft tannin finish. Perfect wine for game dishes and char grilled steak with full-bodied sauces Reserve Range Wines RESERVE SHIRAZ 03 This deep red wine with intense purple hues displays rich ripe blackcurrant fruit with spicy cedar and savory aromas on the nose. The palate is just as intense with bursts of rich ripe jammy fruit; followed by well-integrated vanillin oak, firm tannins, and lingering length of sweet fruit. Accommodation Creek Range SEMILLON/SAV/BLANC A medium dry white of two classic varieties. Fruit driven style of passion fruit and pineapple with a touch of residual sugar, followed by a crisp acid finish. Best with all light lunches, served with salads. Favorite with any Caesar salad combination, and gourmet Turkish breads. MEDITERRANEAN RED The Three Mediterranean varieties of Tempranillo, Duriff and Barbera come together to produce a deep red/purple wine which displays plenty of fruit on the nose whilst leading into a rich yet soft and flinty palate with a touch of oak. The durriff provides the color intensity and tannins whilst the tempranillo and barbera produce the fruity up front palate as well as the soft yet length finish. Semi Sweet Wines MUSCADEAN A light sweet white with an elegant bouquet of ripe grapes. The palate presents loads of fruit up front and ending with a slight crispness. An excellent wine for pre dinner drinks served with a mild cheese and fruit platter, topped with dried apricots, figs and nuts. A great summer wine when served chilled to cold. Drink with-in eighteen months. Take on a picnic or drink anytime. Excellent with spicy Asian food. ROSETT A light Lambrusco style with a touch of sweetness. Serve with pre-dinner snacks or with a light lunch. Best with sorbet and picnic outings. Serve chilled. Drink with-in eighteen months. Strange Bird Wines BARBERA This Italian variety has made itself at home adapting extremely well to the Granite Traprock soils and cooler climate of the Granite Belt. This light/medium bodied wine displays hints of cherry and cedar on the nose while the palate is soft up front with plenty of ripe fruit and finishes with balanced tannins and tight acid. A food lovers wine. TEMPRANILLO This Spanish variety is a medium bodied vibrant red/purple wine which displays aromas of cherry and spice with underlying tones of French Oak. The smooth yet rich textured palate builds up softly with a burst of fruit, soft supple tannins and a crisp finish. DURIF Of French origin this full bodied dark rich wine displays aromas of chocolate and spicy blackcurrants. The smooth yet rich textured palate is full up front with plenty of ripe fruit melting into firm tannins and a soft oak finish. Fortified Wines LIQUER MUSCAT A wood matured Muscat with loads of raisin fruit and well-integrated spirit. Made from fruit off our 55year old vines. The vines are non-irrigated so in order to achieve the luscious raisin character needed for this style. The wine has been solero blended to retain the old material character at bottling. Serve with coffee and rich chocolate. NATURES GOLD A fortified White Muscat. Sweet smooth and creamy on the palate, with a lifted bouquet of lychee. A dessert style. Best with sticky date pudding or even pavalova topped with fresh tropical fruit. Will keep for many years and color will deepen with age. VINTAGE PORT This traditional Vintage Port presents as a deep cherry red with some purple hues. The nose displays bursts of black currants, and fruit with underlying brandy tones. The palate is both full and rich with two-year-old brandy spirit complementing and complexing the slightly sweet finish. This 2004 Vintage Port Wine was produced from the Estates oldest Shiraz vines and is the first produced for the Estate. |
